Machine vs hand stretch film: choose for the wrapping operation.

The correct film starts with how your pallets are wrapped—not only thickness, price per kilogram or a catalogue name.

What is the practical difference?

Machine stretch film is designed to run on pallet-wrapping equipment. Its selection should consider wrapper model, pre-stretch setting, web stability and the load to be contained.

Hand stretch film is selected for manual application. Operator handling, roll format, grip, load shape and the route after wrapping all matter.

Choose machine film whenYou use a pallet wrapper and want a repeatable wrapping pattern at operational scale.
Choose hand film whenYou wrap manually, have variable loads or need a flexible warehouse / export-packing format.
Do not compare byMicrons or price per kilogram alone.
Compare byGrams per pallet, pallets per roll, breaks, load stability and total packaging cost per pallet.

A fair trial is like-for-like.

Keep the pallet, load, wrap pattern and operating conditions consistent. Record grams per pallet, pallets per roll, film breaks or tears, and load stability after handling. This is the evidence that turns an apparent low price into a real sourcing decision.
